Opening and leading our new four-bed home in Sudbury for children with learning disabilities and autism, accountable to Ofsted for the quality of its care, with a structured bonus, clinical supervision and the Level 5 funded.
Here at Able Health Care, we put children at the heart of everything we do. We run three registered children's homes across Suffolk, Liberty Lodge in Ipswich, Fern Lodge in Leiston and Oak Tree House in Sudbury, with further homes in active development as part of a planned expansion.
Every home is built on the same foundation: consistent leadership, a therapeutic culture and management stability. We invest in permanent staff, keep agency use to a minimum, and promote from within: our current Operations Managers were appointed from inside the group.
Every appointment is made under safer recruitment procedures, including an enhanced DBS check. We aren't just filling shifts; we are looking for dedicated, empathetic people ready to bring their hearts to work and make a lasting difference.
Hazel House is a new, long-term home in Sudbury for fourchildren aged 4 to 17 with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. The home is being prepared for registration with Ofsted and will open once its Registered Manageris in post and registered.
Unlike most new homes, the groundwork is already done. The statement of purpose, a full policy package, an operations manual and a well-planned rota are in place, so the Registered Manager can focus on building a loving team and welcoming children home. Children are supported by a high ratio of staff, with waking night support and experienced senior residential support workers leading every shift, and the home has specialist PositiveBehaviour Support from our PBS consultant and an in-house PBS champion.
Many of the children we will welcome communicate without words, and some have found other settings hard. We see their behaviour as communication, and our care is built on Positive Behaviour Support, PACE and love-led practice. Because Hazel House is a long-term home, the Registered Manager will see children grow up, from as young as four, until they are ready for adult life.
Full time, 40 hours per week, with a share of the managementon-call rota. Permanent. Relocation support is available for candidates movinginto the region.
The Registered Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is accountable to the Directors.
